Intel’s campus in Folsom, California is home to around 6,000 workers. And now, it’s also home to a 6.5 MW solar carport which BEI Construction was the electrical contractor.
Billed by the Solar Energy Industries Association as the largest corporate project of its kind in the United States, the carport brings the site’s total solar output to 8.7 MW. Intel reports that, at peak capacity, the systems generate more than 50% of the campus’s energy.
