BEI Connect opened a new office in Los Angeles, California, in 2020. The location lets BEI offer clients across Southern California a full range of technology infrastructure services. These services include low voltage wiring, security, and audio visual (A/V) installation. BEI added General Manager Joe Acosta to the team to lead the new office. BEI Connect is a division of BEI Construction.
“BEI Connect is bringing its one-stop-shop approach to low voltage wiring, security, and A/V to Southern California,” says BEI President Mike Rantz. “We’re able to handle these types of technology projects from end to end. It’s an advantage that our clients in Northern California appreciate. We’re already gaining a following in Southern California, where we’re currently working on a major sports facility.”
Acosta brings passion for installation quality to BEI Connect
General Manager Acosta is a well known in the industry in Southern California. That’s in part because he’s focused on technology installation excellence for just about his whole life. His father, a long-time cabling pro, helped him get started—before he even finished high school.
Acosta explains: “My father always worked very hard, and I try to live up to his example. He took me to help on jobs from a young age, and I learned the importance of quality and attention to detail. After graduating, I kept working in the industry. The Los Angeles school district hired me as a field engineer while I was in my early 20s. That was an amazing opportunity to help advance the district’s technology infrastructure.”
“I loved everything about cabling, and it was an ideal time to enter the industry,” he says. “My knowledge of cabling best practices helped my career, which included stays at Bergelectric and time at a NASA contractor. Now, I’m with BEI Connect. It’s a perfect fit. BEI understands how fast changes happen in cabling, AV, and security technology. There’s an investment in continuous learning.
