BEI Construction procured and installed a new, sound attenuated, emergency back-up generator for the San Joaquin Regional Transit District offices. This project included the engineering, design, and installation of a new stand-by generator, installation of concrete pads, conduit and wiring, transfer switch, and remote generator status panel. Field modifications of the service equipment to receive new power feeds from the ATS for back-up power system. Change-over of the equipment performed with no loss of service to the facility.

Long-Term Relationship with The Gap

BEI Construction provides electrical installation services to the Gap on an as-needed basis, including equipment procurement, installation of transformers, power panels, cables, receptacles, cabinets, generators, and UPS systems at multiple sites in and around San Francisco. At the GAP's San Bruno Headquarters facility, our electricians installed their UPS equipment and cable management system as well as relocated their communications center.

Alternative Energy

Blymyer Engineers Inc. furnished design/build services for a $2.5 million solar-powered irrigation system at a commercial citrus ranch in Borrego Springs, California. The project required the installation of a 267 KW photovoltaic ground-mounted array to provide power to a variable frequency drive capable of running a 200-horsepower irrigation water pump. Blymyer Engineers was responsible for the electrical and civil/structural design, obtaining the planning and building permits, and performing turn-key civil and electrical installation. The project occupies approximately 1 acre of land and required the installation of 1,700 solar panels and associated electrical equipment. It is the largest solar power system in San Diego County and the largest solar driven pump system in the world.
